Mr. Harold Wayne Bagley was born April 28, 1937 in the Deadwood Community of Panola County, Texas to the marriage of Johnnie D. and Sybil Earline Spradley Bagley. He was raised and schooled in Deadwood attending Logansport and Carthage schools later recruited to play football in Oil City where he graduated. He served his country through the U.S. Marines Corp.
Wayne worked as a Panola County Sheriff’s Deputy and later spent his career in oil and gas pipeline construction, working from Alaska to Iraq. After his retirement he began Chaparral Construction Company. Mr. Bagley was a self-taught man with an amazing work ethic, even his spare time involved heavy equipment operation.
Mr. Bagley was a lifetime member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M., the O.E.S. Chapter of Carthage, where he served as the Worthy Patron. Wayne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage and even taught himself to fly his own plane. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, Mary Ann Allborty, and Vicky Davis, half-brothers, William Henry Barnett, Dick and John David Bagley.
Mr. Bagley is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Frances Lee Bagley, children, Thomas Dewayne Bagley and wife Ann of New Mexico, Carol Ratcliff and husband John of El Dorado, AR, Mary Jo Schubert of Carthage, step children, Tina Davis Cope of Huntsville, Tammy Simpson of Lindale, Nina Snow and husband Tim of Carthage, Neva Cowan and husband Raymond of DeBerry, half-brothers, Weldon Barnett of Deadwood, Robin Bagley of Dennison and Jerry Bagley of Dallas, eight grandchildren, four step grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Dillon Cowan, Peyton Cowan, Jonathan Ratcliff, Jackson Ratcliff, Randy Bagley, Dewayne Bagley, Joshua Schubert, Casey Forbes and Scotty Baker.
