Weary - Cornman

Miss Betty Jane Cornman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Cornman, RD3, and Fred Eugene Weary, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H Weary, RD1, were married on Sunday afternoon. Sept. 25, 1955, at 3 o'clock in the Doubling Gap Center, Newville. Rev. H. P. Jones performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gray suit with navy blue accessories and a corsage of sweetheart roses.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride.

The couple will live at RD3, Carlisle.

Frederick E. "Pappy" Weary, age 81, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on February 1, 1935 in Carlisle to the late John and Romaine Deitch Weary.

Fred retired as plant manager after 43 years at G.S. Electric, Carlisle. He was a member of the Middlesex United Methodist Church, a member of the Carlisle Eagles, Aerie #1299, Carlisle VFW Post #477, Carlisle Family Moose Lodge, Carlisle White Circle and The Rock-N-Rye Hunting Lodge in Shermans Dale. Pappy enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, farming and riding his John Deere tractors. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and especially his loving wife "Mermie".

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marjorie A. Minnich Weary of Carlisle; two sons, Floyd E. (and wife Elaine) McClintock of Gardners and Richard (and wife Deborah) McClintock of Perry County; five daughters, Carol E. (and husband Kenneth) Wetzel of Carlisle, Trudy J. (and husband Terry) McCauslin of Carlisle, Cindy (and husband Larry) Bowers of Carlisle, Wendy (and husband Jim) Gambini of Elizabethtown and Cathy Shumaker of Carlisle; a brother, John (and wife Lois) Weary of Carlisle; a sister, Alice (and husband Ron) Baughman of Bloserville; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Weary and a sister, Janet Swarner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with his pastor, Rev. Jan F. Hughes officiating. Interment will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
