Charles Wesley Winter, 82, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m., with family present 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Dunsford Chapel in Augusta. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Charles was born on Sept. 28, 1933, to George and Rachel (Lipps) Winter in Lehigh, Kan. He attended Virgil High School. He later attended college at Emporia State. Charles had served time in the U.S. Army. Charles had worked as a water well driller. He loved woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and spending time with his grandkids.
Charles was preceded in death by parents;, brothers. Orvin and Marvin Winter; sisters, Erma Tomlinson and Norma Lowke.
