Mr. Roy Edwin Barker, age 90 of Franklin, TN passed away March 28, 2016. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Member of Fourth Avenue Church of Christ. He served on the State Legislature from 1961-1965 and was a 1970 Delegate Constitutional Convention. He was also the Past President of Franklin Noon Rotary Club, member of Jaycees, served 17 years on the Franklin Planning Committee and was a 20 year member of the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce. Preceded in death by parents, George & Mary Troope Barker; wife, Ruth Horton Barker; brother, John W. Barker. Survived by son, Roy E. “Win” (Debbie) Barker, Jr. of Franklin, TN; daughter, Susan (Danny) Bowman of Goodlettsville, TN; grandchildren, Troy (Heather) Bowman and Sloan (Brandy) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Micah , Parker, Carson, Avery, Kayla and Nathan Bowman. Burial in Williamson Memorial Gardens.

He attends the Fourth Avenue Church of Christ and is a manager and Vice President of Truett Barker Insurance Company.
He is a veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart. He was seriously wounded in the left shoulder by a German machine gun. Also receiving the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat Infantryman Badge 1st award. Linda Moore Mora.
