March 28, 2016:

Carolyn Virginia Ballard, age 68, of Williamsburg, Missouri passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

Carol was born on January 28, 1948 in Paragould, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Verily Howard and the late Tenni (Forbes) Howard.

Carol retired from Food Services at Fulton State Hospital after twenty-five years of service. Her past-times included shopping and going to the casino. She enjoyed traveling and liked to visit different churches while on trips. Decorating for Christmas was quite an endeavor as she celebrated the season each year. While all of these brought great joy to Carol, what made her happiest was spending time and playing with her grandchildren.

Those remaining to mourn her passing include her sons, Bob Ballard (Violet) of Williamsburg, Missouri and Billy Ballard (Nancy) of Readsville, Missouri; sisters, Bonnie Ballard (Doug) of Morehaven, Florida, Betty Ballard (John) of Calwood, Missouri and Mildred Langston (Burel) of Cardwell, Missouri; ex-husband, Shelby Ballard and his wife Kathy of Readsville, Missouri and their son, Aaron Ballard (Jenna); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Carol was preceded in death by brother, Nation Howard and grandson, Joshua Ballard.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri with Reverend Mike Haldeman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Readsville.

Memorial donations are suggested to the National Heart Association, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
