Retired Rye Printer David Leslie Gedney 77 of 90 Grapal Street Rye died Saturday at United Hospital Port Chester where he had been a patient since Thursday.
Born Oct 2 1895 in Rye he was the son of-the late George H and Josephine Clark Miller Gedney. He was the husband of the late Elsie Kreitler Gedney who died Jan 18 1968.
A veteran of World War I Gedney was a retired printer who worked for both the Rye Chronical and the Daily Item for 25 years at each post. He also had owned a print shop in Rye and worked Parkland for 10 years.
A lifelong resident of Rye he was one of the oldest members of the Rye Methodist Church and a member of the Milton Point Hose Company of the Rye Fire Department.
He is survived by three sons.
