Donald Marvin Poe Jr.

Born in Galveston on July 3rd 1987, and raised in League City, a creative, humorous, and caring friend, brother and son, Donald Marvin Poe Jr. (“Bud”) passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the age of 28. Part of the graduating class of 2004 at Clear Creek High School, he was known for his love of music and was a talented drummer. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas where he made the Dean’s List. He went on to earn a degree in Process Technology and began working as an Associate Operator at Colonial Pipeline Company.

He brightened any room with his jokes and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He’ll always be remembered as someone who brought great memories to friends and family, as a “somewhat decent rapper,” and was truly a joy to be around.

He is survived by his parents, Donald and Jane (Naschke) Poe; sister, Rachel Poe; cousin, David Naschke, who was like a brother; grandmother, Mary Poe; a large extended family; and beloved dog Bruce. He is being welcomed home by his late grandparents, Leroy and Nell Naschke, Gene Poe, and Arlene Chestnut.

Bud’s family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 30th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial following at Oleander Cemetery in Galveston.

Pallbearers will be Rex Hudson, Andrew Mayo, David Conant, Lucas Indrikovs, Aaron Pettitte, Dean Barrett, and David Naschke. Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Naschke, Jay Beverding, Derrill Naschke Jr, Ricky Garza, and Leroy Naschke III.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
