Sybil Smith Bartee Moran, 78, of Elkhart, Texas, died May 5, 2006 at Elkhart Oaks Nursing Home. Burial at Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart was under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine, Texas. She was born April 25, 1928 in Grapeland, Texas to Clemmie Walton and Pearl Masters Smith. Mrs. Moran was a Licensed Vocation Nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Coy Lee Bartee; sisters, Lee Different, and Maurine Riddle; and brother, Harold Smith. Mrs. Moran is survived by her husband of 26 years, Garth Moran of Elkhart; daughters, Jeanne Murray of Eddy, Connie Bartee of Palestine, and Connie Ann Nichols of Nederland; sons, Jimmy Bartee of Elkhart, Mark Moran of Lumberton; sisters, Erie Grant of Barry, Ruth Stepherson of Brownsboro; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Roy Different, Bobby Grant, Tommy Grant, Mike Selmon, Billy Lusk, and Joe Stepherson.
