Billie Bryant Henry died Monday, March 21st, 2016 in Gainesville, Florida. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Washington Seminary (now The Westminster School), as did her mother and grandmother. She attended Duke University, Florida State University, and the University of Florida, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. She served as co-host of WRUF television's "Mid-Week" program sponsored by the Gainesville Junior League. She married James D. Henry in 1950. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, Historic Haile Homestead, Gainesville Golf and Country Club, Gainesville Women's Forum, and member and past President of the Gainesville Junior League. She was a resident of Gainesville for 61 years.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Shands Health Care and Haven Hospice for their many acts of kindness.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elise Henry Gresham. Survivors include her husband, James D. Henry, her daughter, Patricia Henry Young, and two grandchildren Bryant McCaa Young and Alex McCaa Young of Thomasville, Georgia.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville on Tuesday, March 29th at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited for a reception following the service at the family home, 7800 SW 43rd Drive.

A private internment service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery.
