Civil War Veteran

Henry Lamoreaux, whose illness was mentioned last week, died on Monday, February 3, '08.
He had been in poor health for many years, but on January 26 was stricken with pneumonia, that proved too much for his feeble condition. He was a kind husband, father and neighbor. Altho confined to his home the greater part of the past 25 years by sickness, he did not lose interest in the things that go to make life worth the living. He had been a member of the Valois Baptist church from early boyhood. He was a veteran of the Civil war, and, like many others, had to keep up the fight with disease contracted there, but at last has given up the battle and gone to his reward.

Note: Some people call him David Henry, but he was Daniel Henry in the 1850, 1855, 1860 Census, and then started using his middle name Henry. No David listed anywhere. His grandfather's name was Daniel, so probably named after him. [per Pat Smith}
