The Draft Reg. Card is dated Dec. 17, 1918. (This would have been just months after his mother's death.)

A marriage record is found for him: "Alfred H. Abernathy to Francis A. Dickson" - 21 Jun 1919 - Grundy Co., TN. She was born in Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX and they were living in Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX in the 1920 Census. She died in 1968 in Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX. They obviously divorced at some point between the 1920 Census and 1926. He shows up in Florida by 1926 wife wife, Mabel C. Abernathy.

1920 US Census - Age 40, Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX, with wife, Frances D.

1926 City Directory: Daytona Beach, Volusia Co., FL, with wife, Mabel.

1930 US Census: Age 50, Daytona Beach, Volusia Co., FL, with wife Mabel C. His occupation was Druggist in his own store.

1932 City Directory: Daytona Beach, Volusia Co., FL, with wife Mabel C. His occupation was Sec/Treas of Abernathy's Pharmacy; his wife was recorded as the President.

"Also, the Board of Directors elected W. W. Davidson as President, John Kennedy as 1st Vice President,, and Alfred Abernathy, 2nd Vice President".

March 22, 1917: "Locals" column: "Dr. Alfred Abernathy of Summerfield was a Sunday visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Marugg." (Note: Martin Marugg signed as bondsman when Alfred Abernathy married Francis A. Dickson - 21 Jun 1919, Grundy Co., TN.)

It appears Alfred Abernathy had no children, or at least none that survived infancy.
