Katherine Ruth Richards, 76, of Springfield, died at 1:15 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1939 in St. Charles, IL, to Calvin and Mildred Sharp Satterlee. She married Freddie Louis Richards on September 3, 1960 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Rick) Burke of Chatham and Beverly (Bob) Tregoning of Springfield; three grandchildren, Angela (Brent) Cope, Adam and Amelia Tregoning, all of Springfield; one great grandchild, Grayson; one brother Houston (Luretta) Satterlee of Coffeen; one sister-in-law, Virginia Satterlee of Champaign and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Hugh Satterlee.
Katherine was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, baking and reading. She loved her grandkids and attending all of their activities. She loved dogs and had had several Boston Terriers.
She worked in the billing office at St. John's Hospital for forty-three years.
