Anchorage, AK 08/08/1945 - 03/20/2016 Ms. Patricia E. Cato, 70, passed away on March 20, 2016 at Providence Alaska Medical Center from Alzheimer Disease. Patricia was born on August 8, 1945 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Bell and Emma Cato. She was one of eleven children, six of which preceded her in death. Patricia attended the local schools and was a graduate of Atkins High School. Following high school, she completed her study in cosmetology. Patricia spent many years working in the salon before moving to Brooklyn, NY. While in New York she worked for Lerner Corporation before joining the US Postal Service. She retired in 2002 after 33 years of service. Patricia had strong Christian roots having been raised in Kimberly Park Holiness Church. She was a member of Mt. Horab Church while residing in New York and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church while residing in Alaska. She was a generous person who supported many churches and religious organizations. Patricia had many interests which included reading, collecting books and creating beautiful crochet designs. She joined her sister, Ciesta in Anchorage, AK when her health began to decline in June, 2009. "Trish" is survived by her sister, Ciesta (David) Williams-Anchorage, AK; brothers: Bobby (Susie) Cato-Clinton, MD, Preston (Latwanda) Cato-Springdale, MD, Bernard (Beverly) Cato-Bethlehem, PA and George Ervin aka Willie Cato; nine nieces; eleven nephews; a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
