Roger Tipton
Roger Derwent Tipton passed away unexpectedly August 8, 2015. Roger was a man of action, willing to step up and pitch in; if you had a need, he would do whatever he could to help. His interests were many and varied; his attention to detail assured safety and success in every endeavor. A pilot, he gave his airplanes and time to rush blood to someone in need. During his military service, he was on the Army Rifle Team which spurred his hobby of gun collecting. He also served in the Army National Guard. Retired from Idaho Department of Transportation, Roger dedicated his energy to Boise Ridge Riders, Idaho Rally Group, and recently helping with his 50 year Boise High School class reunion. He was preceded in death by his father, Leland Derwent Tipton of Hollywood, California, and his mother, Marie Thompson Tipton of Halfway, Oregon. Roger leaves behind two brothers, Raymond Hensley and Douglas Tipton, and a sister, Gwynethe Tipton, as well as various nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held September 27, 2015, at Discovery Church, 1177 N. Roosevelt St. in Boise, Idaho. The service begins at 2:00 followed by refreshments and a time to mingle.
