SARA A. JACKSON

A service of celebration for Sara A. Jackson will be held at the Ancho Cemetery on Friday, the 6th of October, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Terry Aiello.

Mrs. Jackson passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at her family home. She was born Nov. 21, 1927 in El Paso, Texas to Walter L. Silver and Lucy Straley Silvers, who precede her in death. Sara operated "My House of Old Things", which her mother founded in 1966. She also followed her mother "Jackie" as Ancho Post Mistress. She attended the Ancho Community Presbyterian Church and was a founding member. Sara married L. Y. Jackson on July 11, 1947, at El Paso.

Sara is survived by her husband, L. Y. Jackson; her daughter DeeAnn Posey, and her husband, Gerald, of Grants, N.M.; her son Leland Jackson of Ruidoso Downs, N.M.; one grandson, Tyke Posey and his wife, Jamie; two great-grandaughters, Kellyn and Kendra Posey; and their mother, Gina Posey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved grandson G. W. Posey.

Pallbearers will be Bill Hightower, Gary Hightower, Paul Baca, Rex Wilson, Pete Gnatkowsky and John Vega. Honory Pallbearer will be the Ancho and Lincoln County Community.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory can be given to Ancho Community Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice.
