James Clayton Larkins, known by many as “SEED TICK” of Riegelwood NC passed away at NHRMC with family at his bedside March 24, 2016.

Clayton was born Feb 23 1943 to late Roy Clayton Larkins and Bonnie Wooten Larkins.

Clayton joined the military after high school and served with US Navy 1961-1967 on USS Forrestal CVA-59.

During high school Clayton was an excellent athlete playing football and baseball. Hunting, golf and fishing became passions of his after returning from the military. During hunting season he lived in the woods and looked like Santa – ritual for him was not to shave or wash the mud off the Dodge. Fishing stories were abundant with “the one that got away” Actually that was the case with hunting as well. He loved golf and wore the shoes well. He bought old cars and loved to show them off winning many trophies at car shows.

The hunting clubs, fishing holes and the golf greens are not going to be the same without Clayton there.

Clayton is survived by his 2 daughters, Tosha Cowan (Phil), Andrea Patrick (Eric); brother, Marshall Larkins (Sue); 3 grandsons , Matthew Cowan, Ethan Cowan and Devin Cook; very special cousin, Daryl Wooten; uncle, JW Wooten and son Gary (Ann) and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at his home.

Graveside service 3pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Weyman Chapel, Old Stage Rd, Riegelwood, NC.
