Born in Shelbyville , she was the daughter of the late Clarence Jefferson and Florence Jane Gee Price, and the widow of Robert Lee Tipton.
She was a member of the Bagdad Baptist Church and a homemaker .
Genealogical research was one of her favorite hobbies.
As a resident of the Masonic home of Shelbyville, she attended the
Masonic Home Chapel, and enjoyed socializing with her many friends, and participating in various activities, especially bingo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Whitaker, and two grandsons, Nicholas Tipton and Keith Cook.
Her survivors include her daughters, Doris,Judy, Sue, Connie, and Peggy,
Her brother, Lester and sisters , Francis, Katie; her eleven grandchildren ,
and eighteen great-grandchildren .
