Mrs. Fannie Lee Carter, 89, of Woodbine, passed away Friday morning, March 25, 2016 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Cager and May Warfield Hill born on February 27, 1927 in Bell County.

Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and canning.

On March 27, 1944, she united in marriage with Gleanus Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gleanus; a sister, Georgia Hill and two brothers, Silys “Sil” and June Hill.

Survivors include two children, Harrison Carter and Vickie Sams of Woodbine and Sidney Hill and wife, Fay, of Corbin; a sister, Betty Rapier of Greenville, OH; two brothers, John W. Hill and wife, Helen, of Whetstone and Pete Hill and wife, Lela, of Corbin; three grandchildren, Peggy Sue Carter, Phyllis Nelson and Joseph Kevin Hill and wife, Stephanie; 10 great grandchildren; a beloved niece, Barbara Logan; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, March 29 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Geral Wells officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Campbell Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 noon until the funeral hour.
