Stanley W. McKinney, 91, of Carmi, passed away at 8:02 am on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. Stanley was born February 1, 1925, in Olney, the son of Floyd A. and Stella Mae (Wright) McKinney. Stanley married Mae Jean Hartleroad on June 1, 1946 and she survives. He was the West Virginia District Superintendent for Halliburton and retired after 39 years, and the former Vice President for Virginia Oil and Gas. Stanley was a member of the West Virginia Independent Oil and Gas Association, the Kentucky Oil and Gas Association, and the Illinois Oil and Gas Association. He was also a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mae Jean McKinney; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy and Manuel Collias of Scott Depot, WV, Pam Drone of Carmi, Vicki Wilson of Hudson, IL, and Jana and Ernie Grace of Marion, IL; and 10 grandchildren, Natalie Zellers, Stanton McVay, Mark Drone, Patrick Drone, Aaron Drone, Cassandra Mattoon, Amanda Thiessen, Benjamin Wilson, Brian Eldridge, and Chris Eldridge.
Stanley was proceeded in death by his parents; five brothers, Clyde, Don, Wayne, Wendell, and Chester McKinney; three sisters, Hazel M. McKinney, Harriet Lucille Taylor, and Dorothy Mae McKinney; two sons-in law, Paul Drone and Steve Wilson; and two grandchildren, Bevin McVay Kiser and Shawn McVay.
