A resident of Corpus Christi for 35 years, Lowman was a well known farmer in the Oso community, approximately 20 years ago. In later years he was associated with the City Street and Park Department until his retirement.
One of his sons, George, Jr., is a former Corpus Christi chief of police.
Born Oct. 31, 1876, in Alabama, he was the son of Herman L. and Rebecca Wyse Lowman.
Survivors include three sons, H. W., George L, and James, all of Corpus Christi; a brother, Joel Lowman of Staples, Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Della Griffin of San Antonio.
