Daniel Scott Garrett passed away by his own hand, Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Salem, Oregon at the age of 22. Daniel was born and raised in Salem, graduating from North Salem High School in 2012. Daniel, with his family, was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed Cub and Boy Scouting with his friends and adult leaders. He loved sports. He started in grade school playing softball with classmates in "city" league. He played baseball and basketball in leagues with his school friends. He enjoyed it and had good athletic ability. He also liked to play softball in "city" league on his older brother's team. He worked at Safeway in West Salem and enjoyed the work and his associates. After a time, he worked in produce and did a great job. He was excited about joining the Air Force and was scheduled for Basic Training in February, having been sworn-in. He was a thoughtful, gentle and a good friend. He had a good sense of humor and quick wit and could easily make others laugh. He was personable, friendly, and loved by those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Aaron Garrett. He is survived by his parents, Don and DeeDee Garrett, and brothers Matthew (Stephanie) and Jonathan. He has aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large loving family. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 22nd at 10:00am at the LDS Church at 5th and Madison Streets NE, Salem. Viewing will be from 9:00 - 9:50am. Interment will be in the Lee Mission Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Willamette Valley Humane Society or to Willamette Valley Hospice in Daniel's name.
