FRED ELLIS BLACK of Mount Dora, FL died at home - he was the son of Fred and Inez McCafferty Black. A life long resident of Orlando, FL, grew up working at his family's grocery store, Blacks Grocery in Orlando, was a U.S. Army veteran, as heavy equipment operator, served 8 years in the reserves and worked as a fuel oil delivery driver at Crum's Fuel Oil, worked at Orlando Steel in counter sales. From there, he became a purchasing agent at Coastline, moved to Pioneer Metals as a Manager for 8 years and along with family members started Black's Supply, Inc and continued to be involved with his company until his death. He was a Master Mason and held memberships in Mokanna Lodge #329, Scottish Rite Valley of Orlando, Order of the Eastern Star Pioneer #99 and Tavares #127, and was a life member of the Bahia Shrine Stable No. 166. Preceded in death by his on, Shane Ellis Black, surviving are his wife, Lori Shreve Black; children, Jason A Black and Nicole R Black Vines; sister, Mary Jo (Black) Heckle and grandchildren, Amanda Black, Ross Black, Austin Vines, Sloane Vines and Walker A Black. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church in Apopka, FL March 29, 2016. Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, FL is serving the family.
