WARRENS — Shirley May Smith, 61, of Warrens passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at her home in the arms of her loving family.
Shirley was born Aug. 24, 1953, in Winona, Minn., to Oscar and Leatrice (Krauter) Erickson. On Aug. 8, 1970, she married Victor Smith; together they made their home in La Crosse, until a little over a year ago.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Victor of Warrens; children, Victor (Jamie) Smith of Whitehall, Tammy Smith of La Crosse, Kelly (Starla) Smith of West Salem, Amanda (Andrew) Martell of La Crosse, Heather (Nikki Smith) Smith of Sparta, Pam (Brian) Schoenecker of Markesan, Wis., Jamie (Rob Ortiz) Smith of La Crosse, and Derrick Smith of La Crosse; siblings, Charlotte (Archie) Sandusky — “Dog” of Hampshire, Ill., Kenneth Erickson — “Ketchup Ears” of Warrens, and Teresa (Terry) Sutherland — “Pee Pee Pants” of Tomah; 26 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Leatrice; and a brother, Wayne Erickson “Wiener Dog.”
