She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church for over 50 years. Eleanor graduated from West Catholic High School Philadelphia in 1953, where she played French horn in the school orchestra. She went on to work at Bell Telephone. Eleanor married in 1960 and raised a family of four boys.
She was a great cook and baker, her pecan pies at Thanksgiving will be sorely missed. Eleanor loved Sea Isle city and sitting on the beach. She was an avid reader and gardener. One of her greatest joys was her girlfriends, women she had known most of her life (The Pigs) and her friends from church and the neighborhood. She loved her dog Josie & all the other dogs that grew up with her boys.
Survivors: four sons Joseph and wife Laura, Robert, Philip, Patrick and his wife Susan; five grandchildren Joseph Ryan, Kathryn, Zachary, Julia and Lacey; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday March 31, 2016 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave. Whitehall, PA 18052. The celebrants will be Rev. Fr. Edward J. Essig and Rev. Fr. John G. Hilferty. Visitation with her family will be 9:00 to 9:45 am in the Church foyer. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Gilbert Funeral Home of Whitehall is honored to handle her arrangements.
