She was the wife of Kenneth E. Anderson, Sr., who died on July 24, 2013.
Mrs. Anderson was born in York County on May 2, 1926, the daughter of the late Franklin and Mima (Lightner) Bechtel.
Mae graduated from York High and was employed as a medical receptionist from which she retired.
She was a member of York Alliance Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Mae loved spending time with her family, crocheting, and working on crossword puzzles.
Survivors include four children, Ken E. Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Paty of Westmoreland County, Dotty M. Thornton and her husband, Paul of Manchester, Pat E. Lowery and her husband, Bill of Mount Wolf, Susan J. Bogle and her husband, Dewayne of Manchester; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Eshelman of York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at the York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Rd., York.
There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the church.
The final resting place will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
Officiating services will be her associate pastor, Tim L. Shuey.
