Rapid City - Annette Mullin, age 91, of Rapid City, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016. She was born in Jefferson, South Dakota on February 27, 1925. Annette was united in marriage to Frank Mullin on September 17, 1949 in Sioux Falls, SD and together they created a wonderful and loving family.
Annette graduated from St. Joseph Cathedral (now O'Gorman High Schoo)l in Sioux Falls in 1943. She attended Rosary College in River Forest, IL, Laval University in Quebec, Canada, and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1947 with BA's in English and French. She was fluent in both French and Spanish and used her degrees extensively while a stewardess for United Airlines until she became a loving wife and mother.
Annette loved and was passionate about life. Mother loved to cook, be with people and travel the world. She was a master knitter, seamstress, champion golfer, and bridge player. She also spent many hours as a volunteer for many charitable and church organizations. She had wonderful friends.
Blessed and grateful for having shared in her life are her husband,her four children,her four grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren.
Annette is also survived by her 3 siblings and their spouses.
Preceding her in death are her sister Julienne Dougherty, parents Thomas and Rachel Dougherty, sister-in-law Dede and brother Dick Dougherty, and son-in-law Timothy Anast.
A Christian funeral mass was held on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City. A private family burial at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis will be held at a later date.
