John Josep Lally, of Pembroke, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, after a brief illness at the South Shore Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Rockland, at age 75.

John was born on September 28, 1940, in Boston, the son of the late John & Helen (Smith) Lally of Canton.

Graduating from Boston Trade in 1959, he joined the U.S. Army serving in Europe before being stationed at West Point and in 2003, he retired from the U.S. Post Office in Randolph. John loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his two precious granddaughters. He was also a collector of the Disney character, "Goofy".

John was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Frances; his sister, Carol Powers and his brother, William Lally.

He is survived by his wife, Terri (Boutin) Lally of Pembroke; daughter, Judi Menslage of North Attleboro; son, John Lally & his wife Sasha of Imperial Beach, California; son, Jeff Lally & his wife Nicole and granddaughters, Alyssa and Emalee all of Middleborough; brother, Arthur Lally of Pembroke; brother, Robert Lally & his wife Fran of Taunton as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a great great-nephew.

Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Pembroke, on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 9:00 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Saint Thecla's Church, 145 Washington Street, (Route 53), Pembroke, at 10:00 AM.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Center Cemetery, Oldham Street, Pembroke.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370 or to the charity of your choice.
