Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Susan Mason were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11 in the first Methodist church, Mountain View with Rev. G.F. Statser, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Oakdale cemetery. Dodd Funeral Home was in charge of services.
Mary Susan Mason, daughter of William Henry and Mary Ann Brintle was born may 6, 1877 near Cornersville, Tennessee and died at her home in Mountain View, August 8, 1962, after a long illness.
IN December 1890 she moved, with her parents, to Indian Territory, She was united in marriage to James H. Mason December 26, 1892 and to this union 8 children were born. In 1893 Mr.and Mrs Mason moved to a farm north of Mountain View where they made their home until 1907, when they moved into Mountain View. Mrs Mason was a charter member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Cottonwood, later moving her membership to the First Methodist church, Mountain View. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star,
Mr. Mason and three children proceeded her in death, survivors include the following children Dr. W.S. Mason, Mary J. Smith, James Elmer Mason, Henry L. Mason and Edith Halbrooks: sixteen grandchildren: twenty-eight great-grandchildren, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends.
