Mrs. Gracie Mae Fowler Young, 68, of Hillcrest Avenue Martinsville, Va. passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. She was born in Birmingham, Ala. on March 9, 1947, a daughter of the late Sam and Lillie Wilson Fowler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Wilson and Beverly Jones; four brothers, Eddie Wilson, Willie Fowler, Robert Fowler and Sam Fowler Jr.
She was retired from Northwest General Nursing Home in Birmingham, Ala. after ten years of service.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Johnny L. Young, of Martinsville, Va.; two daughters, Joyce Taylor, of Milwaukee, Wis.; and Jacqueline Young, of Martinsville, Va.; one sister, Juanita Fowler, of Milwaukee, Mich.; one brother, Nathaniel Fowler, of Milwaukee, Wis.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at Hope in Christ Ministries with Elder Henry Hairston, officiating. Burial will be private.
Arrangements entrusted to Hines Funeral Services.
