Liberty J. Smith, 92, retired farmer, died Wednesday at his home in Adelphi, Ohio. He was a native of Meigs County.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Congrove Smith; three sons, Nelson Smith, Evansville, Ind. James Smith, Columbus, and Robert Smith, Laurelville; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Feckley and Mrs. Ruth Conrad, both of Lancaster, and Mrs. Mildred Seymour, Laurelville; four brothers, Leonard Smith, Laurelville, Mont Smith, Adelphi, Stanley Smith. East Liverpool, and Ed Smith, Parkersburg, W. Va., and one sister, Mrs. Nora Swain of Adelphi. He also leaves 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Adelphi Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard McDowell officiating. Burial will be made at Green Summit Cemetery in Adelphi. Friends may call at the Defenbaugh Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St, Circleville, until noon Saturday. Afterwards, the body may be viewed at the Adelphi church from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
