Salt Laker Was Last of Long Line of British Soldiers

Francis Whiteside O'Conner, 66 years of age, a resident of Utah for twenty years, died yesterday morning at his home, 231 West North Temple street. He had been ill for several months.

Mr. O'Connor was the youngest and last surviving son of General Luke O'Connor of the British army, who was given the rank of Commander of the Bath. Mr. O'Connor was born on the island of Jamaica, West Indies, at the time his father was in command of the British forces there. His brothers and many of his ancestors before his father were officers in the British army. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mr. William M. McCrea, both of this city.

Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed and will be announced later.
