Neil Hill Walker

Born December 25, 1926 in Honolulu, HI to Francel Hill Walker and Francis Ward Walker, and died March 12, 2016 at his home in Seattle with his family by his side.

Neil graduated from Queen Anne High School, attended Maury High School in Norfolk, VA, where he met his future wife. He also attended the University of Washington. He did military service with the US Army Air Corps from 1944 through 1946 and married Gladys Hildreth in 1948. He worked in the family heating oil business, The Home Oil Company (Estb 1926) in Seattle until he retired as President in 1990. Neil was active in many sports that he enjoyed with family and friends and was, for several years, The Boy Scouts of America Scout Master of Troop 94 at Our Lady of Fatima School in Seattle. In his later years he did community service, volunteering for Fred Hutch.

Neil is survived by Gladys, his loving wife of 67 years; children, Barbara Walker Krebs (Charles), Patrick Walker (Karen), Nancy Walker and Tommy Walker (Susan); grandchildren, Kurt, Hans, Peter, Eric, Elisabeth, Ryan, Jeffrey, Tucker, Mason, Alexis (deceased), Grayson, Caitlin and MacKenzie; 14 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Hugh Walker and his family.

The family is most grateful for the loving and supportive care of staff at Providence Hospice of Seattle during Neil's last struggle with cancer.

Funeral Mass was held on March 22nd at 9 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church;

A private Interment will be held at Holyrood Cemetery in Seattle.
