JONESBORO, LA - Janetta Faye Adcock Stevenson departed this life into the arms of her loving Father on Friday, September 9, 2011 after a lengthy but courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born on July 4, 1925 in Quitman, LA, the daughter of Sherwood and Cornelia Adcock.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro at 2p.m. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2pm until 5pm on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmie Pyles, Rev. Joshua Murray and Rev. Dalton Shovan. Internment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Quitman, LA.

Survivors include her husband, Edward E. "Shorty" Stevenson of Quitman, LA, one daughter

Jane Stevenson Lyon and husband Paul of Charlotte, N.C., one brother, Billy Jo Adcock and wife

Patsy of Quitman, LA, four grandchildren, Steven Craig Lyon of Portland, OR, Christopher Lyon and wife Hallie of Charlotte, N.C., Edward Russell Stevenson, Jr of Shreveport, LA, Lauren Fontaine Stevenson of

Shreveport, LA, four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Zachary Lyon of Portland, OR and Blake and Avery Lyon of Charlotte, N.C. Mrs. Stevenson was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelia and Sherwood Adcock, one son, Edward Russell Stevenson, Sr., and her sister, Rae Adcock Walsworth.

She was a woman of deep faith, imparting on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren her caring, loving and nurturing nature.

Pallbearers will include, Christopher Lyon, Ken Adcock, Patrick Adcock, Tim Hearne, J. C. Ward and Jerry Hanes.

Honorary pallbearers will include, Lavon Hinton and Claude McMillan.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Antioch Cemetery Fund, c/o Jerry Hanes, Chairman, Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 527 N. Antioch Road, Quitman, LA., 71268. Additionaly the family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Professional Hospice of Ruston and Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
