David Connell Parker
July 23, 1933 - March 18, 2016

David Connell Parker, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2016. David was born in Austin, Texas on July 23, 1933 to Richard Denny Parker and Nona Lee Clement.

He resided in Austin all of his life, and attended Wooldridge Elementary School, University Junior High, and Stephen F. Austin High School (Rio Grande campus). He graduated from the University of Texas in 1956. While at the University, he was a member of the Phi Gam fraternity and remained an active alumnus. David also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. David was a true gentleman, had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by many.

David was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Lucien Parker, Jacque Adoue Parker; sister, Lila Anne Parker; and niece Katrina Kirksey Parker.

David is survived by his brother, Richard Clement Parker of Corsicana, Texas; three children, Catherine "Katie" Wood Parker Bollinger of Tulsa, Oklahoma, William Clement Parker Archer, Elizabeth Newton Parker Adams and son-in law, David Adams, all of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, David Parker Bollinger, William Hale Bollinger, John Harrison Bollinger, Abbey Elizabeth Archer, John Simmons Archer, Catherine "Katie" Amlar Adams and Drew Ainsworth Adams; nieces Lee Parker Tooke Case of Uvalde, Texas, Peggy Parker Karren of San Francisco, California, and Julie Parker Johnson of Austin, Texas; nephews, William Kirksey Parker of Cypress, Texas, William Denny Parker and Thomas Edward Parker both of Austin, Texas and Jack Lucien Parker of Dallas, Texas; and many great nieces and nephews.

David's children want to thank Harold Thompson of Austin, Texas, a longtime friend and caregiver.

A graveside service will be held at Austin Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to a charity of choice.
