He was educated at St. Thomas Catholic School and graduated from Tremper High School in 1982. Jeff was a machine operator for KD Excavating. He was proud of being an excavator; he could excavate 30 plus feet into the ground and make it work. He was never afraid of depth and always protected the men he worked with. During the crane accident at Miller Park in 1999, Jeff was first to get to his friend and coworker and held his hand while he passed away. Jeff loved the equipment he drove. His Dad called him “Cowboy” because there was not a machine that he could not wrangle with. Jeff would show up at work everyday an hour early to check the job before anyone arrived. Jeff had a sensitive side which a lot of people did not know. He cared for his family and friends with his huge heart.
His loving father Ralph M. Cable, his brother Barry A. Cable and his sister Michelle L. Cable survive Jeff.
His loving Mother Carol Jean whom he loved dearly precedes him in death.
A Celebration Visitation for Jeff will be held on Saturday, April 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. A Celebration of Jeff’s life will continue at the Fireside Restaurant (2801 – 30th Ave.) from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Memorials would be appreciated to the family.
