Joe Pyke Marr of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away in Fredericksburg on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at the age of 86 years.

He was born on August 19th, 1929 in Austin, Texas the son of John C. Marr and Bess Burnitt Marr, Served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1960, graduated from University of Houston with a degree Geology, married Dorothy Charline Manofsky on May 5th, 1957 in Bay City, Texas, worked a Geophysicist with Superior Oil Co.; Houston Oil & Minerals; Seagull Energy and Brooklyn Union Exploration, was a member of St. Mary’s and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Churches.

Preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Andrew Krc, and by a sister Laura Johnson

Joe is survived by the following, his wife Dorothy Marr of Fredericksburg, two daughter, two sons & spouses, Kathryn Michael Joseph of Richmond, Texas, Charles Marr of Palacios, Texas, Marilyn Krc of Houston, John & Deborah Marr of Malakoff, Texas, grandchildren, Austin; Cameron & Alexandria Mar, Hayden & Kyle Krc, great grandchildren, Foster Krc and Caleb Marr.

Vigil services will be held on Monday evening at 6:00 P. M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at 10:00 A. M. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall, Texas with Fr. Jim Harnan officiating.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 P. M. in the Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, Texas.

In Lieu of Flowers the Mr. Marr had asked that memorials be made to the Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, or your favorite charity.

The Marr family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 4 to 6:00 P. M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, and on Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:00 A.M. in the St. Francis Xavier Church in Stonewall.
