Resided in All Saints Parish, Frederick County, 1756-1760. One family tree says he died at Hanover in Frederick County.
Married Rachel Beall or Hepburn (We Veitches by Guthrie, pp. 201-202). Some family trees say she was Rachel Beall, daughter of Ninian Beall Jr. (1674-1709). Burke's and Virkus say Rachel Hepburn (Burke's American Families by Burke's Peerage (1939), p.2951, and Burke's Landed Gentry, 16th edition, 1939, p.2951.
Burial at Mt. Olivet is believed likely as most graves in the original All Saints Church Graveyard were moved to Mt. Olivet, but no readable stone marking his grave is known to be found there now.
James Veatch (1695-1762), son of Nathan Veatch, is shown by some descendants as marrying Rachel Beall, a daughter of Ninian Beall Jr., while Burke's American Families (p. p.2951) shows her as Rachel Hepburn. Others show her as Rachel Beall Hepburn whose mother, a Magruder, was a cousin of the Bealls. Her maiden name is still argued (see also Guthrie, pp.101-103). James and Rachel had a son Ninian Veatch among others. James Veatch also purchased "all that part or parcel of a tract of land called Beall's Pasture" in Prince George's County, April 3, 1723. He sold Beall's Pasture to Major Edward Sprigg, June 28, 1733.
