Services for Hattie L Chase, 93, formerly of Orion, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Kirk, Huggins and Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Orion Methodist Church, where she was a member
Mrs. Chase died Sunday Aug. 18. 1991, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Geneseo. The former Hattie L. Berg was born Aug. 25, 1897, in Stark, Ill., the daughter of John A. and Hannah Nelson Berg. She married James Anderson in February 1919 in Peoria. He died in January 1956. She married Myron F. Chase Aug. 18, 1957, in Orion. He died in May 1979. She was an assembler at Eagle Signal Corp. during World War II. She worked in the cafeteria at the Orion Middle School as a server for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, and Warmothers. She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting.
Survivors include a son, James L. Anderson, Denver, Colo.; a stepdaughter, M. Ruth Swanson, Moline; a stepson, Richard V. Chase, Danville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grand-children; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Berg, Stark, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert R. Anderson, and a stepson, Robert Chase.
