Darnell Williams 44, of Hilton Head Island, husband of Tasha Williams, died Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, GA.

He is the son of Estella Williams Jackson and Odas Stafford.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 12 Noon, at Central Oak Grove Baptist Church, Hilton Head Island. Burial will follow in Harbour Town Cemetery.

Darnell Williams, son of Estella (Michael) Jackson and Odas Stafford was born on July 27, 1971, in Savannah, GA.

Darnell began working in the restaurant and hospitality industry at the young age of 14. This demonstration of a strong work ethic that would follow him through life and lead many who worked with him to describe him as a team player and a hard worker. He was a student of Hilton Head Island Schools for a number of years, eventually making a decision to join Job Corps. He received further education in Culinary Arts and completed his high school education there. Family, friends, classmates, and co-workers describe Darnell as a jokester and one to keep a smile on the faces of those around him. He has been known for his tremendous love and dedication toward his children as well as his very strong relationship with his mother. Darnell’s infectious laugh, unforgettable baritone voice, and pleasant spirit, endeared him to many as he attended school and worked.

In late 2012, Darnell became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. He attended services regularly while there and returned to visit when he was in the area after moving back to Hilton Head Island.

On September 15, 2012, Darnell was joined in Holy Matrimony with Tasha Michelle Aiken of Greenville, SC. The two of them shared many great times together and created many fond memories. At an early age, Darnell married Teresa Bush, and to that union four children were born.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Odas Stafford, Jr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents, Eugene "Gunner" Williams, Essie Williams, Hattie Stafford, and Thomas Stafford; an aunt, Dorothy Mae Miller and uncle, Curtis Williams.

Darnell leaves to celebrate his life and cherish fond memories, his wife, Tasha Williams; his children: Darteria, Darnell, Jr., Michelle, and Tupac of Bluffton, SC and Dewitt Williams of Athens, GA. Darnell has 3 beautiful grandchildren, Alayah Williams and Hazel Williams of Hilton Head, SC, and A’Zarie Williams of Bluffton, SC who are left to miss the times he spent playing with them and showing them love. His first wife Teresa, who remained friends with him to the very end; Three brothers, Lamond Williams (Stacey) of Bluffton, SC, Cory Cooks and Darrell Stafford both of Florida; one sister, Camika Cooks of Savannah, GA; Darnell also leaves nine loving aunts: Rev. Lillian (Charles) Mitchell, Malvadine Bryan of Hilton Head, SC, Lasceny Young, Linda Marie, and Lois Faye Stafford of Beaufort, SC, Catherine Gueye, Sallie Ann Robinson in Savannah, GA, Jeanette Robinson of Ridgeland, SC and Annie Mae Williams of Atlanta, GA;Two uncles, Thomas (Ronda), Stafford of Savannah, GA and Edward (Annie) Snider of Hilton Head, SC; 1 god sister, Natasha Snider of Hilton Head Island, SC; his father-in-law, Reverend John Aiken, Sr (Rev. Rebecca) of Waterloo, SC; one sister-in-law, Keisha Kiezer (Mitchael) of Atlanta, GA; three brothers-in-law, John Aiken, Jr. (Keiano) and Preston Aiken both of Charlotte, NC and Steven Aiken of Waterloo, SC; three special friends, Sam Wright of Bluffton, SC, Lester Young, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Joseph Driessen of Atlanta, GA are also left to mourn his loss; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will also grieve the loss of this very special man…….
