Reverend Opie C. Hargrave, died July 31, 2010, the day before his 90th birthday. He was born on August 1, 1920 in Gassville, Arkansas, the son of Grover Cleveland "Buck" and Myrtle Brewer Hargrave.
He served in the Air Force in World War II, and was married to Patricia Knight on June 5, 1948 in Tampa, Florida. He was a graduate of Columbia Bible College in Columbia, South Carolina, and served as pastor of a number of churches in North Central Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Odus and wife Lucille Hargrave, and brother Robert Hargrave. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sister and brother-in-law, Avalene and Roy Thorn of Malvern, Arkansas, sister-in-law Maxine Hargrave of Jerseyville, Illinois; four children and their spouses, Sheila and Bill Dixon of Atlanta, Georgia, Claudia and Paul Bonham of Memphis, Tennessee, John and Linda Hargrave of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and David and Karen Hargrave of Springdale, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon to 9:00 pm, and family visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 3 at Roller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 4 at Roller Funeral Home, with Bro. John Black and Reverend Mark Spripling officiating. Interment will be at the Conley Cemetery in Mountain Home. Memorials may be made to World Vision at worldvision.org.

He served as Moderator of the Big Springs Association of Free Will Baptists in the 1960 session, his address was Mountain Home, AR. Unknown when and were he was ordained, as that is the oldest available minute for that association, which was organized in 1907.
