Byron was a decorated veteran of WWII, serving as an aerial gunner in a B17. He flew 25 missions and served his country for 5 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing when he lived in Idaho. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter JoEllen Smith; son-in-law James Jackson Smith; grandsons Jamey, Jason, Jay P., and their wives Jamie, Sharon, and Carla; great grandchildren Brody and Briley; and brothers Albert Wright of Blackfoot, Idaho and Bernard Wright, of Washington State.
A memorial service was held at Marietta Funeral Home in Marietta, GA. A scattering ceremony with military honors was held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to https://militarywarriors.org/.
