She was born on October 25, 1921, in Chicago the daughter of Charles & Betty (Kraus) Franz. Lillian was a longtime resident of Crystal Lake. She was a civilian worker for the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Later in life she was a clerical worker for Sears-Robuck, Otarian, and Northern Illinois Electrical Supply, & Goodrich-Wilke. Lilian was a member of POCO Club (Pure Oil), Athelon Philoi (Social Club) and St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She also was a volunteer at Hines VA Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Mark) Rose; step son, Robert H. (Sheila) Ross; granddaughters, Tiffany Rose, Cassandra Rose and Roberta Ross; grandsons, Robert H. Ross Jr. and Bryan (Lisa) Ross. Great grandchildren, Conor Geraghty, Ross Geraghty, Nicole Ross and Lauren Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold L. Ross to whom she was married to on June 13, 1942; brother, Charles W. Franz; and a sister, Gladys Franz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the Windridge Memorial Park Chapel, 7014 S Rawson Bridge Rd., Cary. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held in the chapel on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
