Wanda Marie Hunt, 88, of Nampa, ID passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at her home in Nampa.

Wanda was born on February 4, 1928 in Patterson, MO to William Edward Carlton and Ola Black Carlton. Her mother died when Wanda was 3, and her father then married Sylvia Ruth Cain, a member of the church he then pastored.

Wanda was reared and educated in several places because her father was a pastor, but she graduated from high school in Kaysville, UT in 1946.

She met her husband-to-be Noble Hunt in Boulder, CO. Her father pastored there, and Noble (who was in the Navy) had come to Boulder to go to school. He attended her father's church. They were married in the Boulder Nazarene Church on November 5th, 1945. They left immediately after marrying to go to Boston, where her husband Noble took a business course at Harvard for four months.

They were blessed with five children, Noble Steven, Marsha Lynn, Robin Ruth, Alica Marie, and Laurel Anne. Noble was called to preach not long after their marriage, and they pastored churches in many places before ending their ministry in Caldwell, ID in 1996. She was a dedicated pastor's wife those many years, and worked outside the home only once, in Fort Smith, AR at Boston Store.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Church in Boise, Idaho where she attended faithfully until her health prevented it.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Noble Hunt, her son Steven Hunt (Jackie) of Nampa, her daughter Marsha Carpenter (Bill) of Duncan, OK, her daughter Robin Zink of Nampa, her daughter Lica Wright (Gerald) of Texas City, TX, her daughter Laurel True (Ted) of Nampa, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law Bob Gouker, one half-sister Esther Marsh (Earl) of Delta, CO, two half-brothers-in-law, Earl Marsh and David Stockamp and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ola Carlton, her step-mother Sylvia Ruth Carlton, her father William E dward Carlton, her two sisters, Rita Gouker (Bob) and Reva Berg, one half-sister Joann Stockamp (David) and one grandson Byron Hunt.

The memorial service will be held at 12:30pm, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:30am, on Thursday, March 24, at Faith Evangelical Church, 11941 W Ustick, Boise, ID, officiated by Rev. Larry Roberts.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, March 24, at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID, officiated by Rev. Larry Roberts.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
