Margaret Ellan Anderson was born Oct. 23, 1886, on the family farm south of Hillsboro, Kan. She died Dec. 12, 1986, at the Willow Care Nursing Home where she had been a resident for about a week. She celebrated her 100th birthday in October. The fourth of eight children born to Samuel Anderson and Ellan Smalley Anderson, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, three brothers and four sisters.
She was survived by one son, Wesley Anderson of Willow Springs; one nephew and three nieces.
The greater part of Margaret's life was lived in Marion County, Kansas as a homemaker. She won numerous ribbons at county fairs for her needlework.
Services were Monday, Dec. 15, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial was in the Big Creek cemetery.
