Mrs. Matilda Mann, 70, died at 5:15 pm Monday, March 15, 1943 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Richards, after a year's illness.
Mrs. Mann was born in Summerfield, IL December 14, 1872, a daughter of the late James M. and Catherine nee Benedict Brown. On October 27, 1892, she was married to John Mann, who died August 11, 1923.
Mrs. Mann is survived by three daughters, Beatrice, wife of William Lindsay; Blanche, wife of Claude C. Benedict, news editor of the Belleville Daily Advocate, and Myrtle, wife of George Richards, at whose home she died. Also surviving are one brother, Alonzo C. Brown, and one sister, Mrs. Joseph J. Mank, both of Belleville.
Two brothers, Henry Brown and John and three sisters, Elizabeth Gosnell,Kate and Sarah Brown preceeded her in death.
Funeral services held at two o'clock Thursday March 17, from the Gaerdner Funeral Home to Walnut Hill Cemetery. Rev. James W. Owens, pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating.
