Jesse Robert Ross was born on Sept. 11, 1942, in Carthage to Robert Brinson and Billie Bowen Ross. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1961 and attended the University of Maryland. Mr. Ross served in the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam and Desert Storm, and retired after 25 years of service. He married Anna Marie Hattaway on Dec. 31, 1981 in Carthage. Mr. Ross worked as a mechanic in Carthage for many years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5620, American Legion Post #353, and the Vietnam Veterans Assn. He enjoyedspending time with his family and friends, watching sports, and playing on his computer. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Gary. Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Jesse Robert Ross, Jr.
