William A Cooney, aged 37, died at his home on Thomas Street at 10:30 o'clock last night from an illness of about one year duration. Mr Cooney was a slater by trade. A few years ago, he fell 10 feet from a house on Washington St and broke his ankle, since then he has not been able his trade. He leaves a mother at their home, a brother in Newburg, W Va; two sisters, Misses Margaret and Sarah at home. Mr Cooney was well known and his death was a surprise to a great many of his friends. This is the sixth death in the family in the past seven years. His funeral will take place Saturday morning at 8:30 from the house with services at 9 o'clock at St Mary's church where mass will be celebrated by Rev Father Roth. Interment will be made in St Patrick's cemetery.
