Samuel Hotchkiss (Eng.-1653) is supposed to have come from Essex, England, and is found in New Haven, Conn., in 1641. In 1652 he bought a house and lot there which "was passed at Court the same year." He died Dec. 28, 1663 leaving a widow and six children, all born in New England.
