Francis Dutcher 88

Funeral services for Francis (Frank) Dutcher, 88, of Fort Dodge were held Saturday, July 26 at the McGuire Bend United Brethren Church northeast of Dayton. Rev. Dale Kelley conducted the 10:30 am service. Military rites were conducted at the graveside by the V.F.W. Donald Harper Post 5720 of Lehigh. Interment was held in the McGuire Bend Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by the Carson Funeral Home of Dayton.
Mr. Dutcher passed away at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge Wednesday, July 28.
During the service vocal selections, "How Great Thou Art" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", were presented by Mrs. Donald Ford accompanied by Mrs. Ula Johnson. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Morris Lumsden and Mrs. Frank Valashek. Bearers were Bill Dutcher, Tom Dutcher, Steve Herrick, Mark Herrick, Paul Herrick and Donny Eldridge, Jr.
Francis Dutcher was born February 19, 1892 at McGuire Bend. He attended Yell Township school. In 1925 he married Zola Ward at Lehigh. The couple farmed in the area for some time. Mr. Dutcher was also employed at the Lehigh Sewer Company until he retired. He had lived at Park Manor Care Center in Fort Dodge for the past eight years.
He was a member of the American Legion, a veteran of World War I, having served in France, and a member of Lehigh Senior Citizens.
Survivors include sons, Ernest, Otho and Jim of Fort Dodge; daughter, Mrs. Vera Davis, Lehigh; 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his former wife, Mrs. Zola Kinseth of Lehigh; three step-daughters, Mrs. Gene (Arlene) Herrick of Lehigh, Mrs. Franklin (Darlene) Banwart of Lake Mills and Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Eldridge of Fort Dodge; brothers, Chancy of Lehigh and Lawrence of Dayton, and a sister, Mrs. Charles [sic - should be Lauren] (Eva) Peterson of Charles City.
