Roberta May (Sherman) Perry, 84 years old, died in Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center, Somerset, on Friday morning, March 18, 2016. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Perry, Jr. Roberta was born in Lakeville, daughter of the late Nelson and Ethelyn ( PIttsley) Sherman. She was educated in Middleboro Schools and attend Middleboro High School for three years and then attend and graduated from Dighton High School. She worked for W.T. Grants and for over 25 years she was the Bookkeeper for Donles Firestone Tire Company. Roberta was very active in town government affairs in Dighton and served on the Town of Dighton Cable Commission. She enjoyed tennis, knitting, sewing, baking, BINGO and she was a member of Post 611 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Roberta was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church. She is survived by her children, Donna Perry and Dominic Arpino of the Cape, Gayle Lynds of Taunton, Tracey and Stephen Tirrell of Franklin and William and Diane Perry of Somerset. She is the grandmother of Brett, Lauren, Christopher, Nicole, Jessica, Joseph and William and the great grandmother of Jared, Sydney, Alexandria and Shane Roberta is the sister of Helene ONeil and her husband William, Arnold Sherman and his wife Laura and the late Nelson Sherman. She is the sister in law of Jean Sherman, Thelma Sherman, Anna-Mae and Edward Rose and Louis and Barbara Perry. Roberta is the aunt of several. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (route 138 south) Taunton on Wednesday March 23, 2016 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton at 10 AM.
